About the Artist
MaryKate Maher was born in Philadelphia, PA. She received her MFA from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts and her BFA from Arcadia University. Ms. Maher has also studied at the Glasgow School of Art in Scotland and the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture in New York. She has received fellowships from the New York Foundation for the Arts, Franconia Sculpture Park, The MacDowell Colony, Yaddo and Socrates Sculpture Park. Maher has exhibited at many galleries and institutions in the United States including NurtureArt, Brooklyn, NY; Interstate Projects, Brooklyn, NY; Real Art Ways, Hartford, CT; The Wassaic Project, Wassaic, NY; Franconia Sculpture Park, Franconia, MN and Socrates Sculpture Park, Queens, NY. She has exhibited internationally at the Kunstwerk Carlshütte, Budelsdorf, Germany and Das Gift gallery, Berlin, Germany. Maher lives in Brooklyn, NY.
