David Mohr lives and works in Oakland, California. Over the past few years, he has developed a studio practice focused on charcoal, oil and acrylic works on canvas. After receiving his BA from California State University, Sacramento in 2012, he received his MFA from Mills College, Oakland in 2014. In the same year, he participated in the MFA Now Juried Exhibition at Root Division in San Francisco, curated by Donna Napper of the San Jose Institute of Contemporary Art. At the completion of his time at Mills College, he was a recipient of The Jay Defeo Fellowship Award, which featured a panel of jurors including Janet Bishop, Curator of painting and sculpture at San Francisco Museum of Modern Art and Larry Rinder, Director of the University of California, Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archive.
