Daniel Gerwin

About the Artist

Since receiving his MFA from the University of Pennsylvania in 2008, Daniel Gerwin has had five solo shows. His work was included in New American Paintings northeast edition in 2013, and has been exhibited in New York, Pennsylvania, Nevada, Michigan, New Jersey, and Delaware. Daniel recently moved to California, where he teaches painting and drawing at UC Davis. In addition to his studio work, he writes about art. His reviews and essays have appeared in Hyperallergic, The Huffington Post, BurnAway, Machete, and Title Magazine, where Daniel is also an editor. Daniel was chosen as a Career Development Fellow with the Center for Emerging Visual Artists from 2012-2014, and in 2013 he was selected to participate in the Art Writing Workshop sponsored by the Andy Warhol Foundation, Creative Capital and the International Art Critics Association/USA Section. He received his BA from Yale University, and lives with his wife, their two year-old son, and a large furry dog.
